The mission of the Mid-Ohio Valley Gabriel Project is to provide compassionate and caring support to families with children newborn to the age of two through materials, education and community referrals. We are a chapter of Gabriel Project of West Virginia, which was founded in 1997. There are 3 chapters within our state organization: Northern Panhandle (Wheeling), Metro-Valley (Charleston) and Mid-Ohio Valley (Parkersburg). Our Chapter covers seven counties including: Calhoun, Jackson, Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane, Wirt, and Wood.
The Mid-Ohio Valley Gabriel Project is broken into 3 categories:
1. Materials: diapers, wipes, formula, cribs, car seats, clothing, footwear, hygiene and other things that provide a "healthy start."
2. Education: We offer an Education component called, "Brains Under Construction" which teaches new parents about stimulation of the brain as well as other useful parenting tips.
3. Community Referrals: If our clients are needing assistance in areas that we do not assist in, we will do an agency referral and find an agency that provides the needed service.
